We can’t wait to welcome you to our Leeds City Campus for your Criminology and Policing Applicant Experience Day.
Your Applicant Experience Day is the perfect opportunity to get a feel for life at Leeds Trinity University.
You’ll get to meet other new students, explore the facilities where you’ll study, get to know some of your future lecturers, and take part in an interactive subject taster session during your visit.
Interactive subject sessions
Criminology - To Catch a Killer
What turns someone into a killer? Dive into the dark and fascinating world of criminal behaviour in this gripping introduction to Criminology at LTU.
You'll explore the minds of serial, mass, and spree killers through real case studies, using cutting-edge theories from sociology, criminology, and policing to understand what drives people to commit the unthinkable.
Working in small groups, you'll investigate an actual offender. Using your analytical skills, you’ll connect theory with behaviour, background, and motive before presenting your analysis like a real criminologist.
The session wraps with an exclusive tour of our authentic courtroom and custody suite – the same facilities you'll use as a student.
Policing - Justice on Trial: Investigating a Real Miscarriage of Justice
Step into the shoes of a detective and experience the high-stakes world of modern policing through a real miscarriage of justice case.
Working together, you'll piece together evidence as it emerges – just like in a live investigation. Using authentic case files and materials, you'll make critical decisions, weigh conflicting information, and justify your conclusions.
Through guided discussion and analysis, as well as an exclusive tour of our custody suite, you'll develop the investigative thinking and professional judgement that defines great policing.
